In 2008, Lee Heyward sensed that God was stirring his heart to do something beyond the walls of the church and set out to start BrookLink with the goal of helping global leaders see the part they play in expanding God’s kingdom in their homeland.
In 2009, BrookLink was officially founded by Lee Heyward as a global organization that equips local church leaders who minister in under-served areas of the world. BrookLink’s first president was named, a board of directors was appointed, the first staff member was hired, and BrookLink received its 501(c)3 designation.
In subsequent years, BrookLink enlarged its international footprint and was invited to engage with domestic churches as well. BrookLink embraced these new opportunities and expanded its training team in response to increased demand.
BrookLink was accredited by the ECFA (Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability) based on the ECFA Seven Standards of Responsible Stewardship. The ministry continued to grow its staff, and increase its broad-based international training and coaching.
BrookLink celebrated its 10th year of ministry. Between 2019 and 2020, BrookLink has a dozen pending invitations to train at home and overseas.
