I will open rivers on the bare heights, and springs in the midst of the valleys. I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water.” ~ Isaiah 41:18

Dear Friends,

January is full of “news,” isn’t it?  With a new year upon us, new possibilities unfold.  We made it through a bustling holiday season that mixes joy with the blues.  Though new snow deepens in Wisconsin, a sense of anticipation envelopes us.  BrookLink is looking forward to new fields and new heights, thanks to you.

I want to extend my heartfelt thanks for your generous contributions to BrookLink. Your prayers, engagement, and end-of-year giving are all investments in carrying out Jesus’ command, “Make disciples of all nations.” (Matthew 28:19).  Your support is already at work, paving the way for disciple making movement leaders to be equipped for greater fruitfulness. You are playing a crucial role in shaping a future where local churches are strengthened, pastors are united, and disciples are multiplied!

Disciple-making movements bring new opportunities and challenges to the global church.  Based on my 40 years in global church ministry, one of those challenges involves teaching Christians what discipleship actually entails. Jesus is always summoning disciples to follow him—not merely to “accept him’, not merely to “believe in him”, not merely to “worship him.”  In short what this means is: There is nothing in our lives that should not and cannot be brought under Christ’s rule and lordship. Everything in our private world (worship and prayer) and in our public world (play, family, politics) belongs! This is why BrookLink continues to embrace opportunities to help disciple-making movements grow deeper and stronger, even as they grow wider.

Earlier this month, Lee shared winter 2024 greetings before training in Liberia.

Would you please pray for me and my colleague, TJ Addington, as we wrap up our trip in Monrovia, Liberia.  Invited by Rev. Dyonah Thomas, we poured into 40+ movement leaders from French-speaking West African nations (Liberia, Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso, Benin, Mali, Guinea Bissau, Guinea, and Togo).  This gathering focused on organizing and launching a church-based disciple making movement across the western sector of the African continent. Designed to be a catalyst to form a coalition of movements working together in West Africa, this gathering, Lord willing, will be the first of many gatherings with these leaders and has the potential to impact thousands of churches and hundreds of thousands of individuals over the next decade.

Thanks to you and your generous financial contributions, you are turning vision into reality. We are deeply grateful for your trust, prayers, and support.

Every blessing,

C. Lee Heyward, Founder & CEO
