“You were ransomed with the precious blood of Christ.”
~ 1 Peter 1:18
Sometimes we just need a healthy reminder of what God has finished for us in Christ. Reminding ourselves of what God has done takes away the sting of the day and helps us profitably navigate our way through the chaotic snares of the devil. The apostle Peter, with all his foibles on full display in Scripture, grasped so very well what God had done for him, and he beautifully shares with an audience who needed encouragement to press on:
God has elected you
God has chosen you
God has sanctified you by the Holy Spirit so that you can live an obedient life
God’s grace and peace is lavished on you in abundance
God has given you new birth into a living hope
My service as BrookLink’s interim president is drawing to a close as we prepare for Lee to resume his role full time with BrookLink on August 1st. I encourage you to hear his heart felt remarks and update on his transition plans from Elmbrook Church below. He also provides a brief update on how you can pray for us, BrookLink’s plans, as well as personal plans.
Lee gratefully shares, “I am really, really looking forward to returning to my duties at BrookLink!”
You may recall that we have a strong partnership with FGA Bible College in Pakistan. Lee and I accepted their invitation to return to Pakistan this fall for their annual conference. Some of their church members have relocated to the Milwaukee area and were recently baptized at Elmbrook Church. Feel free to watch a recording of the baptism below (their baptisms begin at 27:49). What an amazing way God provided robust fellowship for this precious family of six as they adjust to life in the States and grow in obedience to the Lord.
Prepared for action and with your generous gifts, we have accepted invitations to bring our “seminary in a suitcase” to the following locations:
Czech Republic, June 15
Peru, originally planned for June 27 – July 11, now temporarily postponed
Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance, but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, since it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.” ~ 1 Peter 1:13-16
