THE SEASON OF GIVING THANKS

Oh give thanks to the LORD; call upon his name; makes known his deeds among the peoples!

1 Chronicles 16:8

Dear Friends,

I learned a new word recently: “Friendsgiving.” Quite simply, it refers to a large meal among friends eaten during the Thanksgiving season. Maybe you even had a “Friendsgiving” without knowing it last month! However you may have celebrated Thanksgiving, I appreciate that this season cultivates the practice of gratitude. Of course, God’s people have been cultivating thanks to Him for millennia. Because of you, our cups are overflowing! Because of you, we have so much to be thankful for, our optimism is brighter, our hope is increased.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for supporting the on-going season God calls us to – reaching the lost.

The season of waiting to teach our global partners in person finally ended last month. Thanks to your financial giving, Lee and I traveled to south Asia.  Over 130 courageous church planters and seminary students were equipped and empowered during a class on expository preaching. At the request of our global partner, Lee taught from Philippians, while I taught on the “Enemy’s Trap (Power, Sex, Money).” Following a long season of domestic quarantine, it was a delight to experience how God’s promise to build His global church remains true. Lee said it well, “This was a once in a lifetime opportunity to return. It was really good to be back overseas.”

Getting better acquainted with Pastor Khuram in person was a wonderful blessing!

You may recall “meeting” Khuram last December in his video thanking you for supporting BrookLink.  In case you missed it, we wanted to provide his warm greeting again.

Your generosity recalls to my mind Revelation 7:9, “…before me was a great multitude that no one could count…standing before the throne and before the Lamb.”  Lee preached to a hungry audience that included the former Prime Minister of Pakistan and several former cabinet members.

BrookLink listens to the hearts of international shepherds, then teaches what is requested. We are invited to go to several nations in 2022 including Uganda, Rwanda, China, Peru, Armenia, Ethiopia, and Burundi. Your support is vital.

Your ongoing support this past year has sustained us, we are so grateful! Please consider making a year-end gift if you have not already. We would love for you to invite a friend to learn more about BrookLink this holiday season. You may find more information on how to get involved by visiting www.brooklink.org/join-the-cause/. Your provision will directly impact Christ’s leaders throughout the world as He builds his church.

Every $200 helps one Christian leader receive access to BrookLink’s intentional leadership training and development.  Make a gift today!  Please  visit our website at www.brooklink.org/give to make a secure gift online.

Your support and prayers for such a time as this are deeply, deeply appreciated.  Will you prayerfully consider making a gift to reach the financial need of $138,000 by December 31, 2021?

With deepest gratitude,

President

As the season of waiting for international travel continued for some, our BrookLink Facilitator, Lisa Sinclair, pivoted to teach missionaries stateside at the Mental Health and Missions Conference last month in Texas.  Lisa’s warm approachability, her experience in missionary care, and gifted teaching challenged her audiences. As a former missionary in Mali, Lisa boldly spoke on two topics – “God’s Good Design for Healthy Sexuality” and “Race and Missions: Unity in Diversity”. Participants were blessed in approaching the throne of grace with her. Lisa and her husband, Paul, look forward to fulfilling invitations to teach in Peru and South Asia in 2022.
