RE-BOUND
“The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me, because the LORD has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound.” ~ Isaiah 61:1
Dear Friends of BrookLink,
Sometimes I think about how ordinary my days have grown, especially during days of mandated quarantined living. I’ve also been thinking about how even the extraordinary may sometimes become ordinary, like our salvation in Christ. It is amazing the tremendous lengths God went to save us. Genesis 3:15 shows that His plans to bring our Savior into the world were laid out centuries before His parents’ ordinary lives became extraordinary. God’s plan to save you, me and the whole of humanity is nothing short of extraordinary! And to think that you get to play a part in that redemptive service is also quite extraordinary.
Would you help us head into 2021 strong by making a financial gift prior to December 31, 2020? The needs are great, and we are poised to rebound into the new year.
Listen as BrookLink President Ian Lawson gives thanks for you and your support.
At our last board meeting of 2020, we felt sheer joy as we recounted how you sustained our partners through your generosity. Grateful excitement filled our Zoom gathering as plans to bound and rebound in 2021 unfolded:
- Technical provisions were given for virtual classes for seminary students in Kenya and India.
- Invitations are accepted to teach in Ethiopia, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Armenia, India and the Czech Republic in 2021, Lord willing.
- Recordings of Bible lessons are being planned to distribute via video or podcast to minister to people coping with trauma.
Plans have been made for African pastors to attend a conference in Mali.
Ian and Lee look forward to returning to Ethiopia to train church leaders in 2021.
The Lord is faithful, and we are so grateful for gifts already given during this season. With just a few days left in 2020, will you help us reach our year-end financial goal of $200,000?
Your friendship, generosity, and re-vision for BrookLink is extraordinary as we race and rebound into 2021. We are continually praising the Lord for your faithfulness, generosity, and kindness.
Praying for you,
President
You may recall that several of us welcomed newborns to our families last December. Our grandchildren have marvelous parents, and we hope you enjoy a glimpse of them one year later. Board of Directors Chair, Louise and her husband, Ted, delighted in their granddaughter, Maisie. Papa Ian and his grandson, Jack, bonded nicely during the Canadian quarantine season. Lee and Terry’s son, Drew, enjoyed outdoor activities with his growing son, Ben.
