RE-STORE
“Heaven must receive Him until the time comes for God to restore everything, as He promised long ago through His holy prophets.” ~ Acts 3:21 NIV
Dear Friends of BrookLink,
You remember the start of 2020. It almost seems like a lifetime ago. Coupled with much possibility, VISION unfolded as plans were made. Christ would build His church. By His grace and with your support, overseas training opportunities loomed on the wide, open horizon. BrookLink’s growing facilitator team focused on training the trainers in Asia and Africa, where the church is growing by leaps and bounds[1]. Remaining true to the mission God gave to BrookLink, your faithful support enabled our eager trainers to look forward to strengthening churches and gospel movements by equipping, empowering and releasing leaders. Goals were set, reservations made and our travel calendar overflowed with mounting anticipation.
And then…well, you know what happened next. The COVID-19 pandemic descended upon the world with force and fury. Our vision to carry out God’s mission in person was not possible. A world without the ability to gather. The vision we planned for 2020 came to a screeching halt, but God faithfully showed us He had other plans to build His church. He provided a re-vision to build His church.
Our confidence restored, your prayers encouraged us to wait for divine affirmation and direction. As we discerned with our Board, partners and facilitators, we reflected upon the mission of BrookLink. Christ, whose mission never changes, restored hearts, even in the midst of a world with ever-changing rules, restrictions and re-sets. A consistent differentiator for BrookLink has always been to do our work in person – when we are invited, if we can go, we say YES. Your support sustained us as we pivoted in how leaders were trained. You are needed as we head into 2021.
Watch as BrookLink Founder & CEO, Pastor Lee Heyward, shares how God is building His church and reflects on ministry in 2020 and beyond.
You were with us as we faced the challenge of carrying out an unchanged mission, paired with the inability to serve the way BrookLink has been called. You helped us to meet immediate needs both logistical and tangible. Your faithful partnership allowed for continued collaboration and teaching opportunities overseas. Your generosity is being used in creative ways to reach leaders all over the world, even when we can’t be with them in person. You helped restore BrookLink’s ministry even when the enemy was trying to say we could not. Praise God for you!
With your prayers and financial support, BrookLink’s overseas partner, seen in this video, revisioned ministry through 4,900 virtual engagements, 1,100 minutes watched from recordings, 16 high-quality video gospel lessons recorded for VBS, 300 new seekers, 39 one-on-one meetings, 26 Bibles distributed, and 5 new church attendees. Their new YouTube channel receives visitors from his home country and Germany, where many refugees learn about Jesus Christ.
“These numbers are really big for us, and it was all possible through BrookLink. We just want to trust and obey God for such a time as this.” – BrookLink partner
By His grace, opportunities to serve in 2021 are abundant! Lord willing, we are re-imagining ways to train our partners as doors open. As Paul encouraged the Corinthians to be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, we trust that the Lord will re-bound us to help carry out His mission for BrookLink. The need for strong leaders throughout the world post-pandemic is more important than ever[2].
Invitations for our facilitators have been received from Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Ethiopia, India, Pakistan, Armenia and Ghana.
Will you help to reach the financial need of $275,000 by December 31, 2020?
We need you today! Make a gift today! Your generous provision will directly impact Christ’s leaders throughout the world. He is building His church through restoring vision, repositioning leaders and rebounding us all to serve in 2021 and beyond. You are vital in this time of reimagination.
We remain in prayer for you and are ever grateful for your friendship.
“And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. To him be the power for ever and ever. Amen.” -1 Peter 5:10-11 NIV
Shalom,
President
